Everett got his first haircut. I think it totally changed his face. He looks so much older...like a real toddler. I was a little sad because I sent my 'baby' to get a trim and he came back as a 'boy'.Sunday, July 06, 2008

Pictures in May
Many photos from the Barson clan...
Hiking near "Bowl and Pitcher" along the Spokane River. I was finally able to test out my new lenses on my film camera...those photos may appear later. Very exciting and fun!
Cutie Pie eating veggies and cottage cheese (just for you Papa).
The kids love playing outside. John and I definitely made the right decision to spend money last spring and install the yard. Thanks again to my mom and David and Linda for helping out with the house-warming gifts. By the way, we used to bath Sophia in that blue tub when we first moved to Spokane. The home we were renting had no bathtub. She barely fits now.
They always enjoy playing in the sand box.
Everett looks great in the new suit that Auntie Katie got for him. His little Tevas are so cute.
We were playing at Manito Park on South Hill. The park has many gardens, toys, trails, and ponds to visit.
Sophia just outside one of the garden walls
We were hiding in an evergreen.
"Who me? Yeah, I guess I really am the cutest boy!"
We picked up a few large pine cones from another park, slathered them with peanut butter, and rolled them in bird seed to make bird feeders for Gamma.
Our oldest kitty boo boo is finally liking to hang out with Sophia (that is if she can sit still for a minute). She loves hangin out with her new pal.
A different hike along Spokane River just outside of 9-mile Falls.
Sophia walks while Everett rides in the backpack.
Sophia is always picking up sticks and rocks and pine cones...
Yes, this is a very large rooster running around in our back yard. We found him 'hanging' around the house for several days and he never left the area. I really didn't want him hit by a car or eaten by weasels so I corraled him in our back yard. Then spent the next few days finding him a new home. Sophia was sad to see him go. She loved "Mr. Chicken"...the neighbors did not.

We stayed with Mike, Bridget and Claire at a condo in Leavenworth for the weekend that we attended Miryha and Eric's wedding. It was a relief having a 'home-away-from-home' to wrangle three kids. We were able to cook their, nap kids there, and have conversations with grown-ups after the kids went to sleep. We also walked easily to town and along Icicle creek.

We were fortunate to attend the wedding of Eric Runnerstrom and Miryha Gould in late April at the Chateau Faire Le Pont winery in Wenatchee, Wa. The wedding was beautiful and we really enjoyed visiting. My favorite wine was the dessert wine (served in chocolate cups) which they paired with the cake. It was made from grapes that were harvested after a frost. I was really touch by how happy both Eric and Miryha were. Mike, Bridget and Claire were also there. We stayed with them in a condo in Leavenworth...those photos to follow.
