The Tongue and the Rockstar

This is a photo of Sophia that Grandma Barson took back in June. It shows a bit of the 'rockstar attitude' that we deal with (lovingly) everyday.

If you know anything about Everett you know that he leads with his tongue. This is a great picture that I love.

More Photos from August

Yeah, I know...he is going to kill me someday when I show this picture to his prom date.

Since I have been attempting to feed Everett real food, Sophia has been role playing. Here she is feeding Slushy some 'baby mush'. At least someone is getting some use out of this highchair.

Later that night I was frantically searching for her Slushy puppy so that she could go to bed. I finally remembered where I might find him...

"No thanks, Momma." We are still struggling with the basics.

Sometime in August

Sophia is 'helping' to feed baby brother one of the many bottles we are attempting still. She was telling him..."swallow, swallow baby brudder".

We found this grasshopper at Gamma's house and he rode around on Sophia for over an hour. She was so gentle and just went about her business.

The grasshopper rode most times along her neckline or on her shoulders. I finally conviced her to place him back in the planter that we found him. She was on cloud nine.

Gamma and Everett relaxin' in the jacuzzi. He liked this very kicked-back pose because it allowed him to chomp on his toes.

Sophia liked showing Everett how to swim in the jacuzzi. He thought her antics were pretty funny at first...and then she just became too much for him and he needed to escape back to mom and a fuzzy towel.

Cutie Pies

You gotta love these darling babes. John and I are still asking ourselves how we scored such adorable kids. I am sure every parent thinks their kids are the cutest.

Sophia loves holding Everett even though he is always trying to sneek a handful of her hair.

2nd Barson Family - Pepsi Day at Silverwood

Here is our second annual Pepsi Family day at the Silverwood Amusement and Waterpark.

Here is the rolling circus. Sophia rode up front and Everett in the back. We tried to keep cool throughout the day, and we were able to thanks to the free Pepsi fountain drinks! ;)

Sophia loved 'Toddler Springs'. They had lots of sprinklers, fountains, and thin flows of water. Just her size.

The photo is a little over-exposed but you can see that John and Sophia are enjoying the Little Tykes Train Coaster. She was brave enough to raise one of her hands.

She got the hang of using the joystick to raise the plane up and down. She was amazed with this ride.

Here is Sophia, Everett, and I sitting in the shallow water at Toddler Springs. He loved splashing and watching Sophia.
How do you like this cheesy grin. Too cute...all slathered up with sunscreen and ready for fun. They were absolutely spent after a day at the park. Much tears and screaming on the way home. We still had fun though!

Arrowpoint in ID

John and I took the kids to stay at the WorldMark Resort at Arrowpoint, ID on lake Couer D'Alene. Sophia enjoyed walking on the docks and looking at the big boats. Grandma and Grandpa Barson were very generous to give us this bonus time, Thanks!

Gamma drove out and visited one evening and went wading with Sophia.

Her she is actually swimming one day. The water was somewhat comfortable...although still too cold for me. Someone had to take the pictures, right?

Everett initially thought the sand was a little too weird but then he came around and really like splashing and watching his rambunctious.

July August Visit

Way back in July we visited the August family. Uncle Mike and Auntie Bridget were loads of fun. Bridget was just a few weeks shy of having their first baby - Claire.

Sophia loved hanging out with "Argo-the-dog". She was very good at giving him directions..."Argo, get down!" Also, Bridget was sincerely glowing and looked great at 38 weeks of her pregnancy.
We went down to the waterfront and ate halibut at Elliots. Sophia got to ride in style in Mike and Bridget's 'BOB' stroller that we borrowed. She thought she was somethin' else riding in this jog stroller.

We had a fun time at the aquarium.

As usual...Sophia preferred holding the brochure; opening, closing, folding...etc. She occasionally looked at the fish. She did really enjoy the seals who were swimming around.

Sophia and John riding the carousel. I think one of her childhood goals will be to ride as many as she can in each new city she visits.
