Pics in April 2008

Barson Visit in April

We were very grateful to have Auntie Katie and Grandma Barson for a week in early April. My spring break did not coincide with the Montessori spring break so our visitors helped out immensely! Sophia easily remembered both Auntie Katie and Grandma Barson, and really enjoyed herself. Everett slowly warmed to them after a day or two.

I actually had another person to stand behind the camera and take a picture of me and the kids. I am often the one to take the pictures. Silly Sophia!

All I can say about the above picture of Everett is..."baby got back"! We took Auntie Katie and Grandma Barson to Mobius Kids Museum. Wow, what a power-packed afternoon. We had a great time but, I think Katie is further convinced that she won't be having kids of her own any time soon. I will say that Katie is very patient with them and is always willing to play, which they love.

Sophia eating a toy fish in the polynesian hut (Mobius). Auntie Katie bought that shirt for Sophia and she chose to wear it with a khaki skirt, red tights, and canary yellow socks with black shoes!

Grandma Barson is bringing in a basket of produce straight from the 'fields' to feed the Barson clan in the hut. We ate a lot of fruit and fish.

Auntie Katie is being waited on by the Barson kids. Everett has an ear of corn and Sophia is setting the table with woven-grass placemats.
Thanks again for your help Auntie Katie and Grandma Barson. Everything ran very smoothly; John and I got some extra things done around the house and even had desert out...by ourselves.

Reno in March

We traveled to Reno for my Spring break in March. We stayed with the Will's and had a great time visiting with several of our friends. We honestly miss Reno and our dear friends there. Thanks again Sara and Jeremy for your sincere hospitality.

Everett, Sophia, Audrey, and Greyson on the playground.

Greyson showing Everett how to play with dinosaurs. Greyson will be two in July.

Audrey was very gracious sharing her toys and princess clothes with Sophia. The 'little mermaid' pranced around like this for hours.

Sophia and Audrey played very well together considering they have very different personalities. Audrey is only a day younger than Sophia. I think they enjoyed each other's company. Sophia still talks about visiting her friend Audrey in Reno.

We took the kids to a place called the 'Playroom' where they could play and dress-up in more costumes.

Everett was not too thrilled about getting swallowed up by Elmo.

Here we are in the bubble-tube-toy-thing. The kids enjoyed getting to expend some energy. It was a classic, cool and blustery day in Reno.

We were also fortunate enough to visit with Michael and Leta Medina. John worked with Mike back at the 'Lab', and he and Leta watched Sophia for us now and then. They had not met Everett until then. The kids taught them a few lessons on how to 'baby-proof' their new house!
