Meanwhile, a few cute pics

Everett is about 6.5 months in the following pictures and Sophia is 3 years.

Everett still prefers sleeping inclined in his swing. Yep, I know, save the obvious comments about the fact that he can't sleep there forever.

Sophia and Everett had a blast playing in my mummy sleeping bag.

Too CUTE!!!! They were both laughing so hard.

This is a great picture. Everett had been tagged by the sticker monster who placed "Cars" stickers on his arms. I don't think he was too amused. Funny grin nonetheless.

Baby-blues-eyes and his sweet smile.

Sophia's Little Party

Sophia had a few friends over the Saturday after her 3rd birthday. She had a great time!

Setting out the cups next to the beverage cooler (yes, that's the same one that used to be her bathtub when we were living in our last rental house which had no tub). Doesn't she look 'pretty' in her skirt and fancy shoes? She wouldn't let me touch her hair though.

I made cupcakes and frosting from scratch. Sophia only licked the frosting off the cupcake. Oh-well it was her birthday.

Some of her attendees were Eli and Sophie (kids of a fellow math instructor from SFCC).

Here are Bailey and Alyse (kids of a fellow Pepsi employee). Sophia just adores Alyse and always asks to go see her. The party activities included decorating foam visors and the kids were good enough to sport them in this photo.

Geo (George - from the Montessori) also joined the party and thought it was great seeing Sophia outside of school. We brought out all the tents to play in outside. Sophia was really a tired girl that night!

Sophia's Birthday

We took Sophia to her favorite restaurant (The Old Spaghetti Factory) on her birthday. She usually eats about half my plate of myzithra pasta

Grandma Barson helps her open a few presents.

Blowing out the candle. She definitely got the idea of her birthday this year.

She only had about two bites of this tasty caramel and chocolate, ice cream treat. She just isn't a sweets fan (except for Skittles and gummi-things). We totally helped her eat the rest; why waste it?

Grandma and Papa Barson's Visit

Grandma and Papa Barson came for a visit in mid-to-late June...

Sophia and Grandma Barson reading stories.

We took Grandma and Papa Barson to River Park and Sophia showed them how much fun she could have playing on this giant Radio Flyer wagon/slide.

Aunt Katie sent this awesome pool for Sophia's birthday. We joked that Papa Barson would easily blow this up with all his hot air...he opted to go buy an electric pump instead. She still has a great time playing (especially if I add a few buckets of hot water).

Sophia had a great time swimming with Grandma Barson in their hotel pool. Everett preferred hanging back until they tried the hot tub. That was just to his liking. Sorry, no pics of Everett swimming since I needed both hands on the baby...safety issues.

Yep, both have the wide, chubby cheeks but I am afraid that Everett has more hair Papa.

Sophia supervises the construction of a picinic table that Grandma and Papa bought for her birthday. She needed to borrow Papa's golf hat.

Sophia got a kick out of reading condo brochures with Papa. They discussed the properties and the listing realators. It was pretty funny!

San Francisco Part II

Last continuation on our mid-June trip to San Fransisco with Gamma and Aunt Kim.

Everett, Sophia, and I on Fisherman's Warf in San Fran. Alcatraz in the distance. It was somewhat warm but very windy.

Sophia, Aunt Kim, and Gamma checking out the sunning seals at Pier 39. Sophia was amazed at how loud they were. Ultimately, she preferred getting back to riding the carousel.

Sophia and Gamma really enjoyed being chased by the oncoming waves of the Pacific Ocean. Aunt Kim was called in several times to sprint down the beach to wrangle the little escapee. Gamma and Sophia were caught off-guard numerous times and got a bit wet. Meanwhile, I am still nursing Everett up on the sandy hillslopes, taking distant pictures.

These are Sophia's dirty 'piggy toes' and believe me, they (she) got much dirtier!

San Francisco Part I

This was a fun, but tiresome day at the San Francisco Zoo. Sophia enjoyed herself and tested my mom, sister, and myself regularly. She has a very fond story she tells of the donkey that snorted and snotted in her face. To my surprize, she actually handled it well. I quickly wiped the black mess from her face.

Here she is raking up the farm poo in the petting zoo.

She absolutely loved brushing the goats. She went back several times to brush many different goats while we hung out at the farm. It helped that Auntie Kim was nearby with animal treats in her pocket. I think she had as much fun as Sophia.

We all loved viewing the meerkats. Here is one lounging in the sun. Then to the right is Sophia hiding in one of the dugout holes.

This shows Sophia and Kim checking out the 'healthy, plump' meerkats. Sophia had to carry around the brochure and look at it regularly.
Below is a photo of Gamma and Auntie Kim overlooking the Pacific Ocean and viewing the tall ship in the distance. Sophia is resting on the ledge next to the beach.

Video of Everett

Okay, I am attempting to show a video of Everett laughing while we were driving through San Francisco. Hopefully this works. It is sponsored by YouTube. He was hysterically laughing due to sheer exhaustion. I kept making noises like "boo-psst" and he loved it. Sophia managed to get him to laugh several times like this by imitating me. He is about 5.5 months old here. Too CUTE!
