The House

June Update

We purchased this babyseat called a Bumbo and later took it back. Everett doesn't 'dislike' much but we found that this seat was not his favorite. He really didn't fit well. A bit too 'thick', and at times his legs would get stuck when we tried to extract him. He would just sit, slumped over, grunting and fussing. The seat is rated for infants as young as 3 months...maybe just skinnier ones. As of last week he was 17.5 pounds and over 26 inches long!

Here is a picture of Little E (aka 'fat roll') just waking up from his nap. He still loves being swaddled with his blankets so we dress him in as little as possible. He is wearing a 12-month tanksie...yes, 12-month! It's Gerber and they do run a bit small.

This is a pouting Sophia who did not want to walk herself to go and change her diaper. We actually tried toilet training for about 5 days and we chose to let it go for a while. Not worth the traumatic associations.

This sad face represents Everetts first
taste of rice cereal. He wasn't too impressed.
We'll try again in a few days. The nice thing about
the second child is how much less worrying about
the little things...like eating rice cereal this week or next.

This is Everett taking a bath and intently watching the visitor walking along the edge. The cats usually corner me for attention during the kids' baths because I am rarely sitting and the kids are rarely confined.
Everett loves reading the paper with Gamma. He gets so excited about crinkling the adds.

I believe this was taken at about 6:30am. I was lucking to get to sleep in that day.

(left). Everett was on his way to rolling over in this picture. He did it once last week and hasn't done it again since. Oh-well, once again I take a deep breath and don't sweat the small stuff. He'll be rolling and crawling sooner than I am ready.

These last few pictures are great. Sophia and Everett take baths together once in a while (when I am feeling sharp and on my toes). She helps to scrub his tummy as he grins at her.
Everett enjoys cruising in the baby bjorn. He later fell asleep and I flipped over his hat rim and he slept quite well. My back wasn't the same for the rest of the day.
This last photo is another one of Sophia's quality shots. I came around the corner to find her slightly stuck in the cat tree. Needless to say I had a few seconds to grab the camera before assisting her out of her jam. She has done this several times since and I just let her work herself out.
