Sweetest Baby

Here is Everett, 8 days old and yawning. One of the rare times that he is actually awake during the daylight hours. He prefers being up at night. Even so, he is still very quiet and won't make a peep as long as you are holding him. I wish I could learn to sleep sitting up.

Little adorable baby fingers. They stay in his sleeves most of the time because he is still scratching himself accidentally.

Let's hope he doesn't have his sister's feet. Sophia has wide (Barson-side) feet with a high arch (Johnson-side). There are very few shoes that fit her properly. We buy her Merrells or certain types from Stride Rite.

A Little Catch-up

Here are just a few pictures that I hadn't had time to get up onto the blog before the early arrival of Everett.

Family picture in front of the tree. Very similar to the Christmas card we sent. Her favorite 'slushy' puppy had to join in the photo. I was about 37 weeks pregnant in this shot.

Very angelic looking, huh? Looks can be deceiving!

We switched out the nursery furniture and bought Sophia her own set of furniture. She has done really well in her bed. She dislikes any covers except her satin/fuzzy blankets. She is hugging slushy puppy (from Kim), buster-brown-dog (Danette), and kitty (Lori).

She loves penguins. Gamma got her this "Happy Feet" t-shirt. We were going to take her to see the movie (her first visit to the theaters) on Sunday 12/24...except we had a baby instead.

Trip up to Green Bluff to get our Noble Fir Christmas tree.

John and I on our way out the door to the Pepsi Christmas party. John won Sophia an easy-bake-oven and a tea set while playing a competative game of bingo.

Here is Sophia and I the morning after John and I set up the Christmas tree. She was fasinated and behaved fairly well regarding the ornaments and lights.
