Blissfully Soft Blankets

I also have to report that I cut her hair for the first time last night. Her bangs were getting so long that she was frustrated, and never leaves in a hair clip. So, I parted her hair, combed the bangs forward and clipped away. At first it didn't seem like such a big deal, and I thought 'hey, I don't need to save this hair for any reason'. A few minutes later I was on the floor picking up every last little strand. I had a nice 1-inch little curl that I saved and will someday put into a book. Lucky for me that her hair is curly because I cut a bit more length than I originally wanted.
Geeks

This photo is from Sunday, of course. She is dressed to support her Daddy's favorite football team. The cookies and snacks made the game bearable for her. We tried to get her to perform her 'touchdown' act but, she was not cooperating.
You know your parents are science geeks when they dress you in a shirt that says "QT'pie'"...as in the greek symbol. Well, I thought it was adorable. She may mock me later in life.

Cuckoo-Nutjob Cat

Well, this here is a picture of 'Missy', our 'special needs' cat. I just had to write to laugh a little (in between bouts of sobbing). She has been exploding out of both ends for the last week, so we took her to the vet. We weren't too sure what was wrong but thought maybe a blockage. I picked her up this morning from the "Kitty Hilton" for the shocking price of $605.00! What's wrong with her you ask? Well, she has kitty anxiety issues...plus a case of the inflamed intestines (probably due to the copious amounts of packing paper she has eaten lately). What it boils down to is that she doesn't cope well with change and the recent move (not to mention the rambunctious little person named Sophia) are causing her stress. Anyways, just thought I would share this hysterical experience.

memory lane

John and I were driving down memory lane the other day while packing boxes for the move. One of the most memorable events during our residence here was the birth of our new 'boss'. So we looked up some (well, a few of the hundreds) of her pictures. Here are just a couple. The very top photo was taken about 12 hours after her birth. The next one was taken at one month old while she napped in her mobile swing. Yes, both of these precious moments were captured during the few times when she wasn't screaming, nursing, or crying. Aaaahhhh, seems like 25 years ago. I had forgotten just how dark her hair was. John was concerned for a while there :)
looks like a granny

We had a great time at play-group last week. Sophia borrowed one of Audrey's necklaces and then swiped one of a smaller baby's hat out of her diaper bag. She pranced around for hours in this outfit. She reminded my of an old lady...except I don't know many old ladies that can ride a tiger. She is able to get on and off Audrey's rocking tiger by herself. Too cute!

Little Gym Baby

My friend Sara and I took the girls (Sophia and Audrey) to a place called the Little Gym for a bit of running around. The kids ran, jumped, galloped, and did sommersaults. They also got to play on the bars and crawl all over the giant gymnastics pads. Sophie had so much fun and wore herself out in the process. Here she is pictured 'warming up', playing basketball (traveling big time), and clapping for herself.

Yosemite

Just now getting around to processing photos that don't include Sophia. This can be tough since grandparents aren't too concerned about pictures without her. I took plenty of pictures with my digital and SLR cameras while in Yosemite last spring. Here are two of my favorite views of Half Dome. Both shots are at sunrise.
